White Hydrangea.

Such is my laziness or just not seeing what was there, right in front of my nose, cascading over my side of the fence … that after years of admiring these blooms outside, that finally, this summer, I started bringing them inside.

White hydrangea.  They make a bold statement, don’t they?

I pick them early in the morning after the dogs and I have had our their first pee run in the side yard.  While the dogs eat breakfast inside, I grab the gardening shears and traipse back outside to  make my selection.  And, I feel the spirits of two women: my grandmother and my mother-in-law; both serious gardeners – both of them loved roses best.
