If you’re a part of the American Brittany Spaniel Rescue (ABR) organization, welcome to Healing Rescue Dogs, the home base for my book, Love Always Wags Its Tail. When I started writing, I had no idea that I was going to donate a portion of the sales to a dog rescue group. Like a lot of things that happened during the journey of “birthing” this book, adding that extra layer of serving an adoption group came as the book neared completion. There were a lot of rescue groups to choose from. Why did I pick you?
Because once upon a time, a long time ago, a Brittany spaniel pup snuck into my heart.
Some of you have already downloaded the digital version of my book. There is both a digital and a paperback version of the book. I have to confess that I’m really pleased with how the paperback turned out. It’s a pretty book. The cover itself is getting rave reviews. The dog on the cover? That’s Tessa, my Min Pin mixed breed. She was a street stray that almost didn’t make it out of a high kill shelter in Indiana. You won’t see any photographs of dogs once you open the book. As my little brother took great pains to tell me, “All you need is a professional photograph for the cover. Your words tell the stories and they should stand on their own.” He was right.
The book seems to be slowly finding its audience which is gratifying to me. If it can benefit all of the work that your organization does, that will be the icing on the cake.
I’m finding that I love to hear from readers, so please don’t be shy. Come back and tell me your stories about the dogs that stole your hearts.
