Animal shelters and animal rescue groups have been working together for a long time to move dogs and cats into pet homes. We don't ever say good-bye when we leave our dogs, we always say, "Guard the house."  We've been using this phrase for so long that we never think twice about it. God knows, the last thing I want to be is an expert on knowing how to say good bye to my dogs when they are dying and it gets closer to the time when I will make sure that their final breaths are taken while I'm there in that last rite of dog guardianship known as euthanasia.
